Friday Nights In Coventry
8pm
1hr Group Sound Bath
Doors close at 8pm - please arrive at least 10mins before the Start Time.
Take a left at the entrance and follow the corridor all the way to the end.
Bring a blanket or sleeping bag, a cushion/pillow, an eye mask, yoga mat and a bottle of water to drink.
Comfort is key to enjoying your experience - so wear loose comfortable clothing (or pyjamas if you’d prefer).
Lying on your front or side might be preferable to you (especially if you are prone to snoring). Do NOT feel like you need to lie on you back “because everybody else is” - listen to your body and do what feels right.
If you struggle to lie down on the floor, you may sit on a chair, or bring an extra pillow to put under your knees. There are chairs all around the room so you are welcome to enjoy a sitting Sound Bath if you’d prefer. This venue is also wheelchair friendly. Remember to bring a blanket, cushion and maybe some fluffy socks.
Switch off your phone/smart watch, choose a space, get yourself comfy and settled for the 8pm start time.
During…
We will start with a short guided relaxation, followed by various resonant sounds which slow down brain waves, inducing a more relaxed and meditative state.
You might see colours, feel tingling in different parts of your body, experience temperature changes or hear sounds that you don’t like. This is due to vibrations shifting energy around your body and nothing to worry about. On the rare occasion that this makes you feel uncomfortable - take your awareness back to your breath and it will pass
You may fall asleep, this is normal and it will not affect the relaxation effect. Near the end you might hear rain/wave sounds followed by a short silence. The silence is an important part of the experience but it can sometimes feel uncomfortable - if this happens, take your awareness back to your breath and take slow deep breaths. The experience ends with a gentle guide back into the room.
Sometimes there can be outside noises that I can’t control. Life is rarely silent. In a Sound Bath, we practice letting the noise exist without letting it carry us away and choosing to go inwards, even when the outside world hums on.
Breathe. It takes practice - and the more you manage it in a Sound Bath, the more you’ll be able to do it in the real world 🌍
Afterwards...
There will be complimentary sweets or you might want to bring a little snack. Make sure you feel alert before driving home. It may be beneficial to limit busy events, and plan to rest for the remainder of the day. Some people like to journal afterwards.
You may feel tired or emotional for a day or two. It is common and will clear, leaving you with a greater sense of well being and calmness.
Keep well hydrated, eat nourishing foods, avoiding alcohol and other stimulants.
Make Good Choices 🙏
