Coventry Hammock Sound Bath
A deeply immersive Sound Experience where you will be ‘cocooned’ in a hammock and bathed in sound vibrations around and underneath you - created by various instruments.
5pm - 1 hour Group Sound Bath
Doors Close at Session Start Time - please arrive 15mins before the start time.
An aerial hammock teacher/industry expert is on hand to demonstrate how to, and to help you in and out of the hammocks. Your health and safety is our main priority.
*Each hammock can hold up to 20 stone in weight*
Comfort is key to enjoying your experience - so wear warm comfortable clothing (maybe a dressing gown/oodie or some big fluffy socks) and bring a bottle of water to drink. Your body temperature will drop during the sound bath, so it is essential to bring a blanket and a cushion. A hot water bottle is also advised for extra comfort.
*It is best NOT to wear jewellery as it can snag the silk hammocks*
If you are driving, you will be able to park at Henry Street (Pay & Display) Car Park
The venue is situated a short walk out of the car park, on the left hand side, next to Coventry Dance Complex. Look out for 2 black doors to the right of the Dance Complex sign (this is the entrance to Pole Elavation).
Remember to switch off your phone, before you are helped into the hammock, so you’re comfy and settled.
The Session will start with a short Guided Meditation, when you will start to hear soothing sounds.
During the Sound Bath you might see colours, feel tingling in different parts of your body, experience temperature changes or hear sounds that you don’t like. This is due to vibrations shifting energy around your body and nothing to worry about. On the rare occasion that this makes you feel uncomfortable - take your awareness back to your breath and it will pass.
You may fall asleep, this is normal and it will not affect the relaxation effect.
Near the end you might hear rain/wave sounds followed by a short silence. The silence is an important part of the experience but it can sometimes feel uncomfortable - if this happens, take slow deep breaths.
The experience ends with a gentle guide back into the room.
Sometimes there can be outside noises that I can’t control. Life is rarely silent. In a Sound Bath, we practice letting the noise exist without letting it carry us away and choosing to go inwards, even when the outside world hums on.
Breathe. It takes practice - and the more you manage it in a Sound Bath, the more you’ll be able to do it in the real world 🌍
Afterwards...
There will be complimentary sweets or you might want to bring a little snack. Make sure you feel alert before driving home. It may be beneficial to limit busy events, and plan to rest for the remainder of the day. Some people like to journal afterwards.
You may feel tired or emotional for a day or two. It is common and will clear, leaving you with a greater sense of well being and calmness.
Keep well hydrated, eat nourishing foods, avoiding alcohol and other stimulants.
Make Good Choices 🙏
