Saturday’s in Leicester
7pm - 8pm
1hr Group Sound Bath (ages 16+)
Doors close at Start Time - please arrive 10mins before the Start Time (no earlier as you will be waiting in the cold)
There is free parking available at Enderby Civic Centre on King Street, across the road from The Yoga Room or please use nearby street parking.
Leave your shoes under the benches and bags on hooks provided - (NO SHOES ARE ALLOWED PAST THE CURTAINS)
Blankets, bolsters and mats are provided, you might want to bring a cushion/pillow, an eye mask, and a bottle of water to drink.
Comfort is key to enjoying your experience - so wear comfortable warm clothing (or pyjamas if you’d prefer) and maybe bring a hot water bottle for extra comfort.
Lying on your front or side might be preferable to you (especially if you are prone to snoring). Do NOT feel like you need to lie on your back “because everybody else is” - listen to your body and do what feels right to you.
Switch off your phone/smart watch, choose a space, get yourself comfy and settled for the 7pm start time.
During…
We will start with a short guided relaxation, followed by various resonant sounds from Crystal Bowls, Gongs and other percussion instruments. The vibrations will slow down your brain waves, inducing a more relaxed and meditative state.
You might see colours, feel tingling in different parts of your body, experience temperature changes or hear sounds that you don’t like. This is due to vibrations shifting energy around your body and nothing to worry about. On the rare occasion that this makes you feel uncomfortable - take your awareness back to your breath and it will pass.
You may fall asleep, this is normal and it will not affect the relaxation effect. Near the end you might hear rain/wave sounds followed by a short silence. The silence is an important part of the experience, but it can sometimes feel uncomfortable - if this happens, take your awareness back to your breath and take slow deep breaths. The experience ends with a gentle guide back into the room.
Sometimes there can be outside noises that I can’t control. Life is rarely silent. In a Sound Bath, we practice letting the noise exist without letting it carry us away and choosing to go inwards, even when the outside world hums on.
Breathe. It takes practice - and the more you manage it in a Sound Bath, the more you’ll be able to do it in the real world 🌍
Afterwards...
There will be complimentary sweets to take with you or you might want to bring a little snack to have in your car. It is important to make sure you feel alert before driving home.
It may be beneficial to limit busy events, and plan to rest for the remainder of the day. Some people like to journal afterwards.
You may feel tired or emotional for a day or two. It is common and will clear, leaving you with a greater sense of well being and calmness.
Keep well hydrated and eat nourishing foods.
Avoiding alcohol and other stimulants for the next couple of days will maintain your improved sleep quality.
Make Good Choices 🙏
